Shepherd of the Hills
GRANT PROGRAM
for St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School
The Shepherd of the Hills Grant Program for St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School has been established through the generosity of a local Catholic individual interested in fostering the spiritual formation and growth of Catholic high school students.
The fund exists for the expressed purpose of encouraging Shepherd of the Hills Parish Grade School graduates to attend St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School.
The grant assures that each graduate who satisfies the specified requirements will receive 50% of SMSA tuition on an annual basis for each of the student's four years of high school education as long as those requirements are fulfilled.
Grant Recipient Requirements
STUDENTS must:
Shepherd of the Hills Parish Grant Administration
For as long as grant funding exists, a Shepherd of the Hills committee (consisting of the Pastor and Principal, plus Staff and Faculty members) will administer the fund. This group will screen and determine qualified new applicants for the grant program as well review the progress of SMSA students during their four years of renewal.
Application materials will be provided to the families of the Shepherd of the Hills 8th grade students before graduation each spring. A renewal form will be available to SMSA students from the Shepherd of the Hills School office with directions and timeline for completion, submission and an appreciation note to the sponsors of the program.
Shepherd of the Hills Parish will provide moral and spiritual assistance to families who desire a Catholic secondary education for their child(ren), along with any necessary assistance to complete the application process.
Shepherd of the Hills Parish will annually forward the appropriate funds directly to St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School for each qualified and accepted student.
St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School Assistance
If the family requires financial assistance beyond the Shepherd of the Hills Grant in order for the student to attend St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School, the family must provide annual financial data to SMSA by separate application through the School and Student Services (SSS) program (an independent program that assesses the needs of families). Additional information may be requested by SMSA to determine need.
It is the understanding of the Shepherd of the Hills Grant Program that the parish grant would in no way diminish the assistance sought through St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School, and that the parish grant is available in addition to financial assistance received through the high school.
St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School will provide the grant committee at Shepherd of the Hills Parish with updates on the status of all grant recipients (participation, GPA, verification of continued financial need.)
